Learning at Home
Reading
Please support us in school by listening to your child read at least three times a week and record this in their reading log. Reading logs can be brought into school from a Wednesday to be stamped in class. Once a child has 3 stamps they will receive a stamp on the reading chart and after 10 stickers each child will receive a prize. We also encourage children to access the Read Theory website to support their reading comprehension.
Spelling
Please help your children practise any spellings sent home these can also be practised using spelling shed. Find below a list of year 5 and 6 statutory spellings that children are expected to know.

Maths Resources
In school we use White Rose Maths planning to support our teaching and learning. Below is a link to a series of lessons for each year group.
White Rose Maths
Corbett Maths provides questions covering a range of Mathematical topics. There are four levels of difficulty and problems are set each day. These are suitable for Key Stage Two.

Times tables
Children are encouraged to learn and apply their knowledge of their times tables effectively to solve problems. To help the children with this we use the fantastic website - Times Table Rockstars.
PE
Due to the current situation children will not be getting changed for PE in school so we ask that they come to school in their PE kit on their PE days.
UKS2 PE Days
Class 3 | Wednesday |
Class 2 | Thursday |
Class 1 | Thursday |
PE kits are as follows:
- School white T-shirt
- Black shorts
- Suitable trainers / plimsolls
A track suit can be worn in the winter months. No baggy T-Shirts as these can be dangerous. Parents are responsible for ensuring their child brings their PE kit to school when needed.
No jewellery is allowed to be worn during swimming or P.E. as it can get caught on the equipment.
Although we do have set PE days the timetable in school may change due to other events happening in school so we ask children to bring the PE kit to school on a Monday and leave it until Friday. Now the weather is starting to get a little bit warmer we will also try to get outside when we can.
